Winnebago Models We Service (Chassis Only)
Brisbon Automotive provides specialized repair and maintenance services focused exclusively on the automotive chassis utilized by Winnebago’s motorhomes, including its partner brand, Itasca. We handle all aspects of the drivetrain (engine, transmission), suspension, braking, and electrical systems that keep your RV moving safely and reliably. Please note: Our services cover the chassis only; we do not service the “house” components (appliances, plumbing, living quarters, etc.).

Available Services and Repairs for Winnebago Motorhomes
Your Winnebago motorhome’s reliability is built on its chassis, and it requires expert service to maintain. We are fully equipped to service all chassis platforms Winnebago has used, including the Ford F-53, Chevrolet/Workhorse, Freightliner XCS, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ram ProMaster, and even the unique Volkswagen EuroVan chassis.
Preventative Maintenance
A Winnebago’s chassis, whether it’s a Ford V8 or a Cummins diesel, requires specific preventative care. We follow the chassis manufacturer’s exact service schedule, including oil and filter changes using the correct fluids, fuel and air filter replacements, chassis lubrication, and comprehensive fluid checks for the differential, coolant, and transmission.
Brake System Repairs
The braking requirements for a 4-ton Travato van are completely different from a 20-ton Journey diesel pusher. Our technicians are equipped to service the full spectrum, from the hydraulic disc brakes on Ford and Ram chassis to the full air brake and exhaust brake systems on Freightliner models, ensuring your RV has safe, reliable stopping power.
Engine and Transmission Services
This service goes beyond basic fluid changes. We perform advanced diagnostics for the Mercedes-Benz V6 diesel, the Ford V8, and the Ram V6. For our Class A diesel clients, we provide full service for the powerful Cummins engines and the Allison transmissions they are paired with, addressing any performance concerns or check engine lights.
Suspension and Steering System Maintenance
A Class A Vista requires a very different alignment than a Class B Revel. Our state-of-the-art heavy-duty alignment rack can handle all Winnebago models, ensuring your RV tracks straight. We also diagnose and replace worn components like steering stabilizers, shocks, and air suspension bags to provide a stable, comfortable, and controlled driving experience.
Cooling System Maintenance
An overheating engine can end a vacation. We protect your motorhome by performing complete cooling system service, focusing on repairs. This includes pressure-testing the radiator for leaks (including side-mount radiators on diesel pushers), replacing water pumps, thermostats, and inspecting all drive belts and radiator hoses.
Electrical System Diagnostics and Repairs
Our electrical service is focused exclusively on the 12-volt automotive chassis system. We diagnose “no-start” conditions, test and replace engine starting batteries, and repair or replace failing alternators and starters. We also troubleshoot all factory dash controls, warning lights, and exterior lighting.
Note: We do not service the 120V “house” electrical system.
Exhaust System Repairs
A quiet, leak-free exhaust is critical for both safety and comfort. We inspect the entire system, from the manifold gaskets to the tailpipe, for leaks or damage. We replace worn-out mufflers, resonators, and damaged pipes, and service all emissions components like catalytic converters to ensure your motorhome is running cleanly and safely.
Tire Services
Tires are the single most important safety component on your RV. We inspect them not just for tread depth, but for age-related sidewall cracking (date codes), which is the most common cause of a dangerous blowout. Our shop is equipped with heavy-duty balancers and mounting machines to handle the high-ply, heavy-load tires your Winnebago requires, providing expert tire replacement, rotation, and balancing.
DEF System Maintenance (for Diesel Engines)
For all diesel-powered Winnebago models, including those on Sprinter and Freightliner chassis, a functional Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) system is non-negotiable. This service focuses on repair. We provide complete diagnostics for DEF-related “Check Engine” lights, test and replace faulty NOx sensors, and service DEF heaters and pumps to prevent a costly “limp mode” or no-start situation.
